Leica just pulled the wraps off their newest mirrorless camera, the Leica TL2, and it’s an instant classic. The Leica TL2 shares a similar design philosophy and feature set as compared to the T or TL that it replaces with an updated aesthetic (rounded lines), better interface (customize to your heart’s content) and improved user experience (TL smartphone app for Wi-Fi syncing). While we’re all for the cleaner design in both the body and operation, it’s the hardware that truly sets the updated Leica TL2 apart from its predecessors. The Leica TL2 is built with a larger 24 megapixel APS-C sensor, a more powerful Maestro II series processor, better autofocus with 49 focus points and an electronic shutter capable of shooting at speeds up to 1/40,000th of a second. When you package that kind of functionality into a hand-held package that looks exactly like a Leica camera should, the fact that it’s an instant hit should come as no surprise. Available now HERE.
