The Spike Jordan-directed clip dives head-first into the continuous atrocities committed against young Black men by the hands of those who swore an oath to protect-and-serve, including his own encounters with the police at a young age. Furthermore, the song also touches on black-on-black crime and gang violence which permeates the city of Philadelphia.
The song also flips the same Al Green vocal sample and bassline made popular on JAY-Z‘s “Blueprint (Momma Loves Me),” while The-Dream provides the song’s hook. Watch the video above.
