If and when Nipsey Hussle decides to release his anticipated next project, let’s hope that most — if not all — of the production is primarily handled by Jake One and Mike & Keys.
The trio have incredible chemistry, and it has shown throughout Neighborhood Nip’s long-running Marathon Mondays series. After taking in some “Ocean Views,” they link up once more for “Mark My Words.”
Bring Rick Ross into the fold, the song has an undeniably West Coast feel that will remind any native Angeleno of summer temperatures in October. Meanwhile, Ricky capably glides over the bouncy production, mentioning the late Stanley “Tookie” Williams III in his verse. The song brings back the old memories of when Nipsey was rumored to be signing to MMG in 2013 (he turned down a deal to remain independent, however).
