Equal parts serious horology and serious playfulness, the new Legacy Machine 1 “Alain Silberstein” edition is a truly captivating and brilliant piece. Presented in 3 metals/finishes, the LM1 Silberstein is “performance art” at its finest!
Long time followers of MB&F will know that this is not the first time Maximilian Büsser and Alain Silberstein have teamed up. Indeed, the dynamic duo united in 2009 on the also-captivating MB&F HM2.2 “Black Box” (pictured in gallery below).
Technically part of MB&F’s Performance Art series, for this new LM1 Alain Silberstein has taken MB&F’s classic Legacy Machine N°1 and imbued it with his unique flair for the unconventional. His use of his signature three bright colours and shapes: red, blue, yellow; and triangle, rectangle and circle, catch the eye as they contrast against the more subdued movement plate below. Lots of great geometric interplay here as well, from the unique hands, subdials, bridges and more. The subdials are concave, the domed crystal is convex. The balance bridge is — look closely — transparent sapphire crystal. And so on.
Engraved in French on the case band between the lugs of LM1 Silberstein is a quote: “Le vrai bonheur est d’avoir sa passion pour métier” – which translates roughly as, “Making a profession of your passion is true happiness”.
LM1 Silberstein is a limited edition of 3 x 12 pieces in red gold, titanium, or black PVD-treated titanium.
