Death Machines of London Built a Bike in Honor of Hunter S. Thompson

July 21, 2016

Built as an homage to Hunter S. Thompson, Death Machines of London’s (DMOL) new UYC bike (that’s Up Yours Copper, in case you were curious) is a testament to what can be accomplished when blood, sweat, tears, time and cost are less important to a maker than creating a masterful work of art that you can also ride. Emblazoned with the Hunter S. Thompson quote “Faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death” on a brass plate situated on the fuel tank and hidden under a hand-stitched tank strap, the bike built on the guts of a 2007 Triumph Thruxton 900 is as much about the little hidden details as it is the striking profile and absolutely masterful craftsmanship. From the Beluga Black to the solid brass grills on the Sprocket Cage Type 1 and a bespoke exhaust system that has no business getting dirty, DMOL’s UYC bike is a combination of each and every thing we love about custom bike building. It’s perfect.
