Hands down my favorites of the 2016 Panerai collection introduced last month at SIHH in Geneva, the Panerai PAM662 & PAM663 (Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio & Luminor 1950 3 Days Acciaio, respectively) hit all right marks. Which of these particular pieces speaks to you depends of course on whether you are more of a Radiomir fan (without crown guard), or a Luminor (with crown guard) fan. But both watches share the same basic aesthetic: vintage style details such as a brown dial, beige hands and dial markings, and plexi crystal. Inside is Panerai’s hand-wind Caliber P.3000, which is visible through the sapphire caseback. All together, I find the look to be simply superb.
Both the Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Acciaio (PAM663) and Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio (PAM662) are limited edition of 1,000 pieces each. Comes in a 47mm steel case, and hand-wound Panerai Caliber P.3000 (3 day power reserve via 2 barrels).
