October 5, 2014
Whenever Taka Hayashi and Vans get together, the outcome is phenomenal. The latest collaboration between the two brings life to two new capsules that will be making themselves available this October for the 2014 holiday season. Within the holiday collection, the Vans Mid Skool is highlighted, as well as huarache-inspired renditions of the Vans Era and the Vans Sk8-Hi.
The Mid Skool gets remade into the TH Sk8 Mid Skool LX, which takes a more refined approach to the traditional form. This silhouette features diamond-embossed quarter panels, a herringbone-molded toe and a pressed midsole. The crazy amount of detail is brought out by three different colorways, including Honey, Light Grey and Total Eclipse in a mix of nubuck, leather and suede materials.
The TH Era Huarache LX and the TH Sk8 Huarache LX break free of their traditional Era and Sk8-Hi mold with the help of Taka Hayashi, bringing us two different looks. The Bordo editions to the Era and Sk8 models combine dark leather uppers with wool accents while the Mustang versions offer a softer appearance, composed of premier pig suede and Italian woven textiles in lighter hues.
