Pressing on from their first collection, Moncler W takes over from the ‘V’ collection as the ski-wear pioneers yet again look to Japan to take their celebrated designs into innovative new frontiers.
Teaming up with forward thinking Japanese outerwear designers White Mountaineering, the Moncler W collection picks up where Visvim left off with great aplomb, incorporating ultra-technical knitted inserts, directional design details and a high altitude attitude.
Where the last collection took inspiration from the world of knitwear, the offerings for SS14 dive straight in with a selection of bold prints and hyper technical panelled designs, applying reinforcing panelling, technical hardware and utilitarian pocket set ups across a range of leopard print, camouflage and snow camo laden designs.
Outerwear that remains lightweight whilst maintaining excellent levels of protection is no stranger to either party involved here and the SS14 ‘W’ collection is packed with top quality examples of this style. Both the Fennec Wind Runner and Waterbuck Jackets are constructed from featherweight technical fabrics that offer unparalleled protection and versatility thanks to details such as full trimmed seams and functionality driven pocket design.
A key feature of any offering from one of Europe’s premier outdoor outfitters, the Down Jacket is a staple Moncler design and one that White Mountaineering has taken to with ease. Applying full scale graphic prints and ‘w’ shape genuine down quilting the Warthog Down jacket is an inspired re-imagining of the French brands signature designs.
