Remember carrying one of these around? You’d press it up to the radio, and create mix tapes. You’d play it until the tape stretched out. And then one day the tape player would eat your tape and that would be that. You knew a teen romance had gone sour when you found shiny black tape strewn all over the sidewalk on the walk home.
Or maybe you were one of the kids who had the old Atari 410 or the Commodore “Datasette.” (This writer’s dad made her get the disk drive instead which was amazingly uncool at the time but for which she was grateful later.)
For the younguns, this is even BEFORE boom boxes. Also, get offa our lawn!
Styled like an old-school tape deck, this speaker fits iPhones 4/4S and 5/5S. Better yet? The play/pause, fast forward, rewind, and volume buttons actually function. (Albeit Fast Forward does Next Track, but it’s the same idea.) The handle comes out so you can carry it with you on your next trip to ShowBiz Pizza Place or Tape World.
