The 1st annual Watches and Wonders fair in Hong Kong just concluded a few weeks ago. Organized by the Federation de la Haute Horlogerie, the trade fair had a venerable lineup of exhibitors, with many prestigious Swiss brands represented. A. Lange had their new Grande Complication on display, as well as two new special limited edition pieces; the one I want to share here is their Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst (ref. 720.048).
Limited to 15 pieces, this 41.9 mm platinum-cased beauty presents the full perpetual calendar functions including a moon-phase, leap year, day, outsize date and day/night indicator; also included is a month display, situated around the periphery of the dial with the current month marked by a small arrow at the 6 o’clock position.
The “Handwerkskunst” notes that these 15 pieces are specially hand-decorated by Lange masters engravers — a continuation of a series which includes the Richard Lange Tourbillon Pour le Mérite “Handwerkskunst” from 2011 and the ZEITWERK Handwerkskunst from 2012.
