For AW13 White Mountaineering goes back to the bare bones of classic outdoor clothing, taking classic designs and recreating them in line with head designer Yosuke Aizawa’s dedication to design, utility and technology.
A collection which continues to shape up very nicely, the latest drop here at end takes the form of a selection of classic White Mountaineering accessories, unique takes on traditional knitwear and an all time favourite piece of cold weather outerwear.
An oft-overlooked accessory when heading out into the raging winds and unforgiving low temperatures of winter, a decent pair of socks can make or break your day and Mr. Aizawa is very aware of this offering high quality versions season after season, this time around creating a reindeer infused version of his Middle Socks.
Patterned knits act as a major force within the collection, applied to a wide variety of silhouettes including a new selection of backpacks given a technical edge and expertly executed new takes on the Nordic Pattern Round Neck Knit Sweater, made in Japan from 100% wool.
This unique approach to knitwear has been translated across to a selection of technical outerwear, an example of White Mountaineering at their finest, with a new iteration of their Windstopper treated Down stuffed vest, refreshed with a jacquard knit yoke panel.
