Adidas have been at the forefront of some of the most impressive collaborations of recent years, already producing one the year’s most sought after pieces of footwear, the Adidas x BAPE x Undefeated ZX5000.
For AW13, Adidas have pressed on with one of their most unique collaborations, the ongoing collection Adidas x KZK, 84-Lab collection, this time enlisting one of the most important figures in modern menswear, Mark McNairy.
This capsule collection from Adidas x KZK x Mark McNairy see’s the New York based designer team up with Fragment mastermind Kazuki Kuraishi to take on a selection of classic Adidas sportswear, re-imagining it with McNairy’s signature approach.
An Adidas icon, the Tracksuit is an instantly recognisable Adi design and one which Kazuki and McNairy have taken to with aplomb. Based on this classic track style, the Adidas x KZK x McNairy version sees it reinvented via McNairys bold approach to tailoring and a selection of his most recognisable iconography.
The footwear on offer shows an sympathetic and definitely appreciative approach to classic Adidas design, with McNairy creating a selection clean and simple re-workings of some of the legendary sportswear companies best loved silhouettes, including the Rom and Rod Laver.
