The BLACKRAINBOW x Puma R698 pack is a capsule born from a wide variety of influences. One of the most important of these being the idea of the runner himself, not however the casual jogger in the park, this pack is driven by those who run to save lives, be it their own or someone else’s.
Based in Paris. BLACKRAINBOW is an organisation that spans a multitude of genres, founded by Jay Smith and Greg Hervieux it comprises the BKRW shop, magazine, website, creative agency, and label. Smith and Hervieux are two men who are constantly looking into the future for original and innovative ideas and have successfully applied this approach to two of Reebok’s classic runners.
Both the OG and Lightweight versions take a colourway designed specifically by the Parisian brand, taking natural colours and tones, adding digital details such as printed 3M to bring them bang up to date. The OG model focuses on the heritage of the silhouette, retaining the Trinomic sole that made it such a successful runner and the LTWT model looks to the future of running, with the original upper sitting on a light yet supportive FAAS sole.
In keeping with the theme of the pack, BLACKRAINBOW have created a series of stunning images to go with the release. Playing on this unique take on the runner, they teamed both of the shoes up with full, battle ready, military uniform, perfectly showing off the camo inspired colourway in an entirely new setting.
