March 22, 2013

Animal print seems here to stay, as it continues to be hugely prevalent throughout the fashion world, also establishing itself as a firm favourite of many sneaker fans, whether expressed through subtle detailing or a full-on takeover. For Consortium SS13 Water Colour Animal Print (WCAP) Pack, adidas Originals has been experimenting with different techniques to create animal patterns in an innovative and eye-catching way. The German sportswear legends have taken things to the next level, using a technique of painting on fabric by hand to create a design that looks like leopard print from a distance, but up close is actually an amalgamation of watercolour splatters. The execution has been used on canvas for the Matchplay and Strider models, while the Tech Super model utilises a stretch mesh fabric with the same effect. Although the prints are subdued in colour, they are certainly dynamic; additionally, all three shoes feature a dash of colour that pushes it to eye-catching limits. Available now HERE.
