How could the World Basketball Festival get any bigger? By taking it to four cities. Nike, Inc. and USA Basketball have announced that the hoops celebration will tour London, Paris, Washington, D.C., and Barcelona.
Having already tipped off in London, the celebration will visit Paris from July 12 to the 16th. This portion will provide the youth with a chance to participate in basketball clinics on Nike built courts. The French national team will meet fans on the 14th, while their game against Spain will be shown on a giant screen on the 15th.
From July 13 to 16th, the tour will also visit our nation’s capitol. The 2012 Men’s and Women’s USA basketball team will train in D.C. and interact with fans in basketball and community building events. On the 14th, Hoops for Troops will conduct activities for military members and their families. A Dream Team exhibition will also take place in the armory. This stop will conclude with Team USA taking on Brazil at the Verizon Center in men’s and women’s action on the 16th.
The tour will rap in Barcelona from July 20 to 24th. Fans will have a chance to see the Dream Team exhibition, along with Team USA games against Argentina and Spain.
