Hello yall! This weeks manga review is on another old favourite manga of mine, as you can tell from the title, it is called ‘City Hunter’. Released in Shounen Jump manga in the mid 80′s, this manga was a huge success, portraying some of Japan’s finest humours. Tsukasa Hojo’s art is incredibly detailed, I love the way he draws the characters especially switching from series out comedy gag moments. This manga also incorporates many of its jokes in a sexual context as they portray the protagonists of the manga as a womaniser. The main protagonist Saeba Ryo is an expert with gun as he is a very skilled gun shooter, the whole action and the sexy women in the manga makes this piece a wonderful read!
This manga is about the life of a private detective by the name of Ryo Saeba who runs the ‘City Hunter’ business with his tomboy partner, Kaori Makimura. In the beginning of this manga, Ryo ran the ‘City Hunter’ business with his friend (a former police detective and Kaori’s older brother) Hideyuki Makimura. But early in the manga Hideyuki was murdered by gangster, before death Hideyuki asked Ryo to take care of his sister whom eventually became his partner in the business. Kaori is a very pretty girl except she has a very tomboyish attitude. Secretly Kaori is in love with Ryo hence why she always brutally hit Ryo with a hammer for his womanising and lecherous behaviour always cause Kaori to City Hunter can be contacted by writing XYZ on the community board inside Shinjuku Station. City Hunter deals with many dangerous cases as you will find out in the manga, and seeing Ryo Saeba’s godly gun shooting skills in action will have you at the edge of your seats.
As you go on in the manga, there are more cool characters to explore, many more funny gag moments which would make your stomach hurt with laughter! Guy be prepared for this awesome manga! I seriously recommend it! Enjoy!
