Besides being known as the world’s smallest full-format digital system camera that carries the legend of Leica M cameras into the digital age, the Leica M9 is also known for its special avatars like the M9-P red leather special edition, M9 in titanium, M9-P limited edition in white, and the one wrapped in Ostrich leather. However, these types of avatars are well expected from Leica, who is widely known for its meticulously handcrafted limited edition cameras. Now, following the success of Leica M7 Hermes camera, this noted German camera manufacturer has again teamed up with the reputed French luxury fashion label, Hermes to create another stunningly beautiful special edition of Leica’s M9-P, dubbed as ‘Edition Hermes’.
In a limited production run, two exclusive M9-P editions will be made available; a total of 300 Edition Hermes range finders will be up for the grabs at a price of $25,000, for which the shipping will begin in June this year.
While, 100 of very special “Edition Hermes – Serie Limitee Jean-Louis Dumas”, which is a celebration of friendship between the former president of Hermes Jean-Louis Dumas and Leica Camera AG, will be made available in July this year, but at a staggering price tag of $50,000.
The $25,000 version uses Veau Swift burnt tan calfskin leather with a silver chrome finish, and carries along a Leica Summilux-M 50mm F/1.4 ASPH optic. On the other hand, the very special version includes three lens options; a Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH., a Leica APO-Summicron-M 90 mm f/2 ASPH., and a Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH., all finished in anodized silver. Further, all this comes with a bag and a book.
Both of the special Edition Hermes will be offered complete with the kits, and will be available exclusively through Leica Boutiques and stores worldwide.
