British artist Dave White has been closely tied to classic American pop culture for a long time. Originally gaining great acclaim for his commissioned works for Coca Cola and Nike, as well as his foray into the world of superheroes, White seems to be entranced by what exactly makes Americans identify so highly with various cultural icons. New from Mr. White comes a less modern “Americana” exhibition focusing on subjects such as the archetypical Native American in headdress, the plains-roaming mountain lion and more. Precious metals such as platinum and gold leaf are overlaid on the pieces to reinforce the power and magnificence of the themes explored. Launching September 9th and open until October 22nd at the Galleri Jules Julian in Copenhagen.
