Gig Review : The Nextmen @ Roxanne

July 14, 2011

What can we say about these guys… we’ve been following them since their ‘Amongst the Madness’ release back in 2000 and it definitely has progressed since, even their live shows have tightened up a lot and is much more refined.

Having been producing, dropping albums and performing live for over 11 years now, they are going stronger then ever and as we rolled into Roxanne’s last Friday night, we were excited to see whats they’ve got installed for us. One thing we noticed as soon as we arrived was the crowds enthusiasm to have a good time. It’s rare to find it in gigs these days, but The Nextmen definite brought that vibe.

They kicked off their set with a bang and with the help of Dynamite MC’s vocals, it definitely set the pace for the entire night. The set from start to finish had very good flow, pace and energy which kept the dance floor bumpin’. There were many bits of the set which I loved, especially when the crowd went wild over “So Many Girls’ from Join the dots album and all the mean mash ups they dropped throughout (some of which I’ve never even heard of) and man did they tear s*** up.

I’m sure punters that were present on the night would agree with me on one thing… The Nextmen definitely delivered a show to remember.
