June 9, 2010

This is one book i would not mind reviewing and having in my collection for sure. Album designers Spencer Drate and Judith Salavetz put this book together to give us a complete look at the world of vinyl-single art. The publication is called “Five Hundred 45s: A Graphic History of the Seven Inch Record” by Collins Design which features over half a century’s work of album covers. The duo picked and compiled 500 subjects that displayed the best use of art, photography, typography, and illustration in their designs and reproduced them at full size with a discography at the back providing complete information for each sleeve. Definitely a book worth having for all graphic and music enthusiasts. Hit the jump to view more images of what you would expect in the book.
