Sanyo Eneloop Lamp/Flashlight

July 2, 2009

No, it’s not the next generation of lava lamps. Sanyo’s Eneloop is actually a combination lamp and flashlight.

When stood up as seen above, the Eneloop brightens the room, but pick it up and point the base forward, and it’s a perfectly functional flashlight. There’s also a “Healing” mode that turns the light to a soothing blue by pressing down on the lamp. Brightness can be adjusted by twisting along the horizontal access. There’s even a metal contact base for charging the Eneloop’s included nickel-metal hydride AA batteries, promoting reuse. The Eneloops is coming to Japan in mid-September for roughly $155.
